Reflecting Energy

Two festivals gone by without any further update here.  What's up with that?

If you're following me on Facebook or Twitter then you probably know what's been happening with me.  March came in like a lamb and went out like a lion for me.  The nice part was having time in Glastonbury over the Spring Equinox.  Being in that place and on that land renews my spirit in mysterious ways.  I spent time walking the land, serving in the Goddess Temple and participating in the Temple's Spring Equinox ceremony.  Time there was busy but wonderful.

And life just didn't stop after that.  By the time Beltane rolled around I just wanted to stop the merry-go-round and get off.  Ha!  General busy-ness has calmed down but many other things are going on.  Beltane is a high energy time the same as Samhain and with Samhain sitting directly opposite on the Wheel, sometimes the opposing energy can be reflected back to us.

This isn't a new concept to me.  I've had it happen before and this Beltane it's happening again.  It's felt more like Samhain this year than Beltane.  So many things going on - teenage angst and drama, family members who are seriously ill and needing tests and hospitalisation, financial challenges.  It's all been enough to make me throw up my hands and officially fire Beltane for its Samhain reflecty crap it's doing this year.  Where's the love and happiness, eh???

So I'm doing my best to ride with it.  There's no point fighting it.  Just flow with it.  Instead, I'm doing my own Samhain reflecty thing and doing some spring cleaning - really clearing some things out and letting them go.  Decluttering is good for the soul sometimes and this seems to be one of them.  In the meantime, Beltane, for me, is still fired and I'm looking forward to Summer Solstice.  I'm hoping Domnu will be kind to me this year and bring me refreshment.  So roll on mid-summer!!
